Nuggets vs. Warriors Prediction
The Golden State Warriors are big favorites at home once again. Can they cover the spread when they host the Denver Nuggets at 10:30PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Warriors are favored at home, as they are getting odds of -14.5 points against the Nuggets. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 229 points. The Warriors have won five of the last six in this series, including a 125-101 win at Denver back on Nov. 10. The Nuggets have covered the spread in five of the last seven in this series.
Since losing to Cleveland on Christmas, the Warriors have picked up back-to-back victories to move to 29-5 on the year. However, both wins were by 10 points or less and they are now just 15-18-1 against the spread. Golden State is averaging 117 points per game on offense while the defense is giving up 104.3 points per contest. Golden State has a great three-headed scoring monster in Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, who are all putting up over 21 points per game. Draymond Green is adding 10.8 points, 8.6 rebounds and 7.3 assists per contest.
Denver is coming off a 124-122 loss at home to the 76ers to drop to 14-19 on the season. Denver has failed to cover in five straight as well and is now 16-17 against the spread. The Nuggets are allowing 109.7 points per game on defense this year, which ranks among the worst in the league. Offensively, Denver is averaging 107.8 points per game. Danilo Gallianri is the leading scorer with 16.9 points per game while Wilson Chandler averages 16.2 points and 7.1 rebounds per contest.

I don’t typically feel good about giving up 14.5 points in any NBA game, but the Nuggets are struggling right now, especially on defense. That doesn’t bode well for them heading to Golden State. The Warriors are 3-1 against the spread in their last four as a double-digit favorite and I think they overwhelm Denver today as well.
