Oddsmakers from online sports book Bodog.com have made Kyle Busch an 11/5 favorite to win the Scotts EZ Seed 300. Carl Edwards is 15/4, while Brad Keselowski and Kevin Harvick are both 13/2.
In three starts this season, Busch has one win, one top-5 and one top-10 finish, while Edwards has one win, one top-5 and two top-10 finishes in three starts. Keselowski doesn’t have a win yet, but he has finished in the top-5 once and the top-10 once in three starts.
At Bristol last year, Justin Allgaier won the Scotts Turf Builder 300 and Kevin Harvick won the year before in his Chevrolet. Bush won this race in 2006, while Edwards won it in 2007 and Clint Bowyer took home the checkered flag in 2008. (The ’08 race was shortened to 171 laps due to rain.)
One name to keep an eye on this week is Reed Sorenson, who is leading the Nationwide Series standings with 111 points. In three starts, he doesn’t have any victories but he has two top-5 finishes and two top-10s. He’s currently 16/1 to win this weekend’s race at Bristol, so he certainly represents some value.
Along those same lines, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. is only two points behind Sorenson and is 18/1 to win the Scotts EZ Seed 300. In three starts he hasn’t reached the top-5 but he’s 3-for-3 finishing in the top-10.
