DETROIT (AP) -The Detroit Tigers optioned right-hander Zach Miner to Triple-A Toledo on Friday and recalled left-hander Andrew Miller.
Miller made his first major league start Friday night against the St. Louis Cardinals. He pitched in eight games for the Tigers last year after they drafted him sixth overall in June.
Miner took the loss in a 2-1 setback against the Boston Red Sox on Thursday. He gave up two runs – one earned – in 5 1-3 innings.
