ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) -Seattle Mariners left-hander Horacio Ramirez left after two innings of Thursday’s game against Tampa Bay with tightness in his throwing shoulder.
Ramirez doesn’t believe the injury is serious, but has no timetable for when he will throw again. The Mariners list him as day to day.
“It stiffened up in that second inning,” Ramirez said. “It was just pretty tight. It wouldn’t loosen up.”
Ramirez threw 35 pitches before departing. He allowed three runs, three hits and two walks.
“It’s in the back of the shoulder,” Ramirez said. “Velocity wasn’t there. It doesn’t allow me to finish a pitch. Hopefully it will calm down soon.”
