KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -Right-hander Scott Elarton was activated from the 15-day disabled list by the Kansas City Royals to start Tuesday night’s game against the New York Yankees.
Elarton had missed 26 games with a sprained right foot. He also sat out the first 36 games this season and the last 71 games with Cleveland in 2006 after shoulder surgery.
To make room on the roster, the Royals optioned right-handed reliever Ryan Braun to Triple-A Omaha. Braun was 0-0 with a 7.88 ERA in 12 appearances.
