ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -Texas Rangers center fielder Kenny Lofton left Friday night’s game against the Cleveland Indians in the third inning after fouling a ball off his right foot.
The 40-year-old Lofton was hobbling and grimacing in pain as he was helped off the field. The Rangers had no immediate comment on the injury.
Lofton, the subject of trade rumors, entered the game batting .307 with 21 stolen bases.
Desi Relaford replaced Lofton, who left with an 0-2 count and runners on first and second. Relaford grounded into a double play.
