ST. LOUIS (AP) -Washington Nationals first baseman Dmitri Young did not return after a rain delay of just more than an hour Sunday in St. Louis because of lower back pain.
Young had a minor collision in the fourth inning with Scott Rolen, who hit a groundball to third baseman Ryan Zimmerman. Young shifted over the base to receive an off-line throw and collided with Rolen, who tumbled down after making contact with Young but stayed in the game.
Young is batting .298 with four homers and 23 RBIs. The game was delayed in the top of the fifth.
