FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) -Matt Klentak was hired Monday by the Baltimore Orioles as director of baseball operations after working in the labor relations department of the commissioner’s office for the past four years.
Klentak, a former captain of Dartmouth’s baseball team, will assist team president Andy MacPhail in scouting, player development and contract negotiations. Before joining the commissioner’s office, he spent 2003 in the baseball operations department of the Colorado Rockies.
He will start with the Orioles on March 4.
