Tampa Bay Rays Fantasy Spin
Tommy Pham reached base three times Monday to extend his franchise-record on-base streak to 43 in the Rays’ win over the White Sox. It didn’t take long, as Pham walked and scored in the first inning. He walked again in the second, stole a base and added another tally. In his next appearance, Pham reached on an infield single and added another stolen base. The 31-year-old is still looking for his first extra-base hit this season, but he’s sporting a .400 on-base percentage and is a perfect 5-for-5 in stolen base attempts.
Chicago White Sox Fantasy Spin
Jose Rondon clubbed a solo home run for the White Sox’ lone run Monday versus the Rays. The White Sox couldn’t get much of anything going against reigning American League Cy Young winner Blake Snell, but Rondon managed to take the left-hander deep with two out in the fifth inning. Rondon has been seeing quite a bit of action at second base lately with Yolmer Sanchez struggling, but he’s not much of a fantasy option.
MLB Betting Trends
Tampa Bay
The Rays have lost four of their last five games versus White Sox overall.
Chicago
The White Sox have dropped 12 of their last 15 games at home.
Prediction:
The Rays have received outstanding pitching in the early going and I don’t expect that to change this afternoon in Chicago. The under is 4-1-1 in the Rays’ last six road games and is 9-1-1 in their last 11 games overall. Charlie Morton will face a projected White Sox lineup with an average strikeout rate of 25%. He’ll induce plenty of ground balls today and keep the scoring in check.
The Pick: Rays/White Sox under 8.5
