St. Louis Cardinals Fantasy Spin
Yadier Molina went 0-for-4 with a strikeout in his return to the lineup Tuesday. Molina saw just eight pitches in his four plate appearances in his first game in the majors in over a month. Matt Wieters played well enough to earn some playing time down the stretch, but history suggests it probably won’t happen even though Molina has had a terrible season offensively.
Kansas City Royals Fantasy Spin
Ryan O’Hearn had another hitless night Tuesday in the Royals’ loss to the Cardinals. The Royals decided late last month to give O’Hearn another shot at first base, but he’s now just 3-for-38 (.079) at the plate since his recall. The club might as well ride it out with him for the remainder of the season, but obviously it’s been a hugely disappointing sophomore campaign after O’Hearn’s nice showing down the stretch last year.
MLB Betting Trends
St. Louis
The Cardinals have won eight of their last 11 games following a win.
Kansas City
The Royals have dropped four straight at Kauffman Stadium.
Prediction:
The Cardinals have won five of their last six meetings with the Royals and are 35-16 in their last 51 games played at Kauffman Stadium. They’ve also been profitable when Dakota Hudson pitches, going 12-3 in his last 15 starts and 7-2 in his last nine outings on the road. The Royals, meanwhile, are just 6-14 in Brad Keller’s last 20 starts.
The Pick: St. Louis Cardinals -135
