Seattle Mariners Fantasy Spin
Tom Murphy slugged a two-run homer in a losing effort against the Angels on Sunday afternoon in Los Angeles. Murphy clubbed his two-run homer off of Noe Ramirez in the ninth inning, trimming the Mariners’ deficit to 8-3. He also doubled in the contest, finishing the afternoon 2-for-4. He’s off to a terrific start to his Mariners’ tenure, slashing .429/.500/.857 with a pair of home runs and four RBI.
San Diego Padres Fantasy Spin
Wil Myers went 2-for-4 with a two-run double in Sunday’s win over the Reds. Myers hit one in the third inning that most everyone thought would leave the yard — including, judging by his reaction, Reds pitcher Tyler Mahle — but left fielder Matt Kemp knocked it down to keep it to a two-run double. Myers would come around to score on an Eric Hosmer RBI double later in the frame. The multi-talented outfielder is having a good start to the year offensively, batting .303/.346/.553 with five homers and two steals through 22 games.
MLB Betting Trends
Seattle
The Mariners are 0-4 in their last four games versus the Padres.
San Diego
The Padres have lost six of their last seven games overall.
Prediction:
The Mariners are killing left-handers and they’ll face a lefty tonight in youngster Nick Margevicius. Margevicius hasn’t missed many bats, as evident by his 89.6% Z-Contact Rate. He’s also allowing 1.35 home runs per nine innings through his first four MLB stats. That’s a bad sign for his matchup tonight for the Mariners, who offer bettors value as a slight money line underdog.
The Pick: Seattle Mariners +107
