Tampa Bay Rays DFS Notes
Drew Rasmussen will start Game 3 of the ALDS on Sunday against the Red Sox. Rasmussen draws the starting assignment for the Rays as the series shifts to historic Fenway Park. The 26-year-old righty was phenomenal during the regular season, especially over the final two months of the 2021 campaign, recording a sparkling 2.84 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 73/25 K/BB ratio across 76 innings (35 appearances, 10 starts). He was acquired from the Brewers in a multi-player deal centered around shortstop Willy Adames back in mid-May.
Boston Red Sox DFS Notes
J.D. Martinez went 4-for-5 in his return to the lineup Friday with a home run and a double as the Red Sox defeated the Rays in Game 2 of the ALDS. The 34-year-old had missed time recently with swelling in his left ankle, but there did not seem to be any signs of rust in this one. Martinez gave the Red Sox an 8-5 lead in the fifth inning to break a tie after crushing a Matt Wisler slider an estimated 412 feet over the centerfield wall. The veteran designated hitter posted a .286/.349/.518 slash line over 570 at-bats this season with 28 home runs and 42 doubles, so his presence is a massive boost to the Red Sox lineup as the postseason moves forward.
Rays vs. Red Sox MLB Betting Prediction
The Rays are 12-5 in their last 17 games versus the Red Sox and are 17-6 in their last 23 games at Fenway Park. They’re also a perfect 5-0 in their last five games following a loss, are 9-3 in their last 12 games following an off day and are 4-1 in their last five Divisional playoff games. On the other side, despite beating the Rays in Game 2 on Friday night, the Red Sox are still just 2-6 in their last eight games against AL East opponents.
