Phillies’ Eflin allows four runs in win over Mets
Zach Eflin allowed four runs in 6 2/3 innings in beating the Mets last Thursday. He was sent down following the start but will return tonight to face the Nationals. He’s 9-4 on the year and owns a 3.70 ERA over 97 1/3 innings pitched.
Nationals’ Strasburg set to return following neck injury
Stephen Strasburg (neck) will rejoin the Nationals’ rotation Wednesday against the Phillies. Neck and shoulder ailments have limited Strasburg to just one major league outing and two rehab starts since mid-June, but he’ll forego a rehab assignment this time and be thrust right back into the Nats’ rotation. It’s not ideal, but with Washington clinging to faint playoff hopes they probably didn’t think they had much of a choice. Fantasy owners should be starting Strasburg this week even with the risk that he might not be sharp.
