Philadelphia Phillies Fantasy Spin
Bryce Harper went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and three total RBI in Sunday’s win over the Rockies. Harper teamed up with J.T. Realmuto for a game-changing sixth inning. The Phillies entered the frame trailing 5-3 before a pinch-hitting Realmuto mashed a two-run homer to tie matters up. A few batters later, it was Harper’s turn to play hero with a two-run homer of his own, one which bumped the Phillies to a 7-5 advantage which they would hold through to the end of the game. While it has been something of a trying start to the year for the big money outfielder — Harper is slashing just .235/.371/.476 in 166 at-bats — he has shown real signs that he is about to take off in earnest. Over his last five games, he has gone 7-for-20 with three doubles and two home runs (those two home runs coming in back-to-back contests this weekend).
Chicago Cubs Fantasy Spin
Anthony Rizzo clubbed his 11th home run of the season on Sunday night, powering the Cubs to a 6-5 victory over the Nationals. Rizzo victimized right-hander Jeremy Hellickson for his solo shot in the third inning, increasing the Cubs’ early advantage to 3-0. He also walked in the ballgame, finishing the evening 1-for-4. The 29-year-old has definitely stepped up his game offensively in recent weeks, hitting .308 (20-for-65) with seven homers and 16 RBI over his last 16 ballgames.
