Oakland A’s Fantasy Spin
Matt Chapman cracked a solo home run to help beat the Cardinals on Wednesday. He put a charge into an Adam Wainwright offering with the bases empty in the seventh inning. Chapman finished 2-for-4 on the night and now owns a cool .269/.353/.534 slash line with 19 home runs, 44 RBI and 53 runs scored in 80 games. He has yet to swipe a base this year.
Los Angeles Angels Fantasy Spin
Shohei Ohtani went 3-for-3 with a run scored and a walk to lead the Angels to a 5-1 victory over the Reds on Wednesday. Ohtani reached base safely in all four of his plate appearances, including a pivotal single to left field in the ninth inning, which advanced Mike Trout to third base with the go-ahead run and nobody out in the frame. He also swiped his fourth base of the season in this one. The 24-year-old has been one of the hottest hitters in baseball recently, hitting .333 (26-for-78) with six homers, 18 RBI and four stolen bases in 23 games this month. There’s a legitimate case to be made that he’s somehow the most underrated five-category fantasy superstar in the game right now.
