Mets’ Oswalt to make another start for Mets
Corey Oswalt will make another start for the Mets on Wednesday against the Blue Jays in Toronto. Oswalt was shelled for six runs in 2 2/3 innings in a losing effort against the Marlins on Saturday, but he’ll get another chance to start with Jason Vargas and Noah Syndergaard still on the mend. He is not a recommended streaming option, even in NL-only formats.
Blue Jays’ Stroman goes seven strong in win over Tigers
Marcus Stroman delivered his second straight strong start on Friday, firing seven innings of two-run ball in a victory over the Tigers. The right-hander scattered just five hits on the night while striking out four. He showed impeccable command, throwing 65 of his 90 pitches for strikes and didn’t walk a batter. The Tigers scratched out a run against him in the second inning and added a second run on a solo shot by Jeimer Candelario in the seventh, but their offense was shut down otherwise. If fantasy owners gave up on him after his early-season struggles, now is the time to pounce prior to Wednesday’s matchup against the Mets.
MLB Betting Trends
New York
The Mets are winless in their last four games played on Wednesday.
Toronto
The Blue Jays have won five of Stroman’s last six starts coming off a quality start in his last appearance.
Prediction:
The Blue Jays have won nine of Stroman’s last 12 interleague starts and as they showed on Tuesday night, they’re capable of putting up runs in a hurry. The home team is 4-1 in D.J. Reyburn’s last five games behind home plate and with the Blue Jays expensive on the moneyline, I’ll lay the 1.5 on the runline.
The Pick: Toronto Blue Jays -1.5 (+105)
