(The Spread) – The Tampa Bay Rays return home Friday night to face the Los Angeles Angels at Tropicana Field as they look to build on an offensive onslaught the day before. That is one of 15 games on tonight’s MLB schedule.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com have made the Rays -135 favorites for the 7:10PM EST start, while the Angels have a line of +125. The over-under for the matchup is set at 7.5.
Left-handed ace David Price gets the start for Tampa Bay, sporting a 3-2 record and a 3.19 earned-run average to date. Ervin Santana, who is 0-3 with a 5.51 ERA, starts for the Angels. According to the latest MLB trends, Price is 1-1 with a 4.18 ERA in four career starts against the Los Angeles Angels. Santana has a 4-5 mark and a 5.56 ERA in 11 career starts versus Tampa Bay.
In other American League action, the New York Yankees open a home series with the Toronto Blue Jays at 7:05PM EST. The Yankees will start Freddy Garcia, while the Blue Jays counter with Ricky Romero. New York is a -145 favorite and the over-under is 9.
The Oakland Athletics are home against AL West rival Texas at 10:05PM EST. The Athletics are -110 favorites, while the over-under is 7.
Moving to the National League, the Philadelphia Phillies return home after a West Coast swing to face their NL East foe in the New York Mets at 7:05PM EST. There is currently no line set for the game. Tim Lincecum gets the start for the San Francicso Giants as they open a series at the Washington Nationals. The Giants are -160 favorites for the game which starts at 7:05PM EST, while the over-under is 6.5.
Atlanta’s Tim Hudson and St. Louis’ Chris Carpenter square off with each other at Turner Field at 7:35PM EST. The Braves are -110 favorites with an over-under of 7.
