(The Spread) – Will the Boston Red Sox manage to win its home series Sunday night against the New York Yankees or will their rivals be victorious for a second straight day?
After finally getting a win Friday afternoon after six consecutive road defeats, Boston dropped another contest Saturday as the Yankees rolled to a 9-4 win. On Sunday night, the two sides will complete the three-game series at 8:00PM EST with a game that will air on ESPN.
According to online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com, the Yankees are a -115 favorite and the over-under is currently set at 9.5.
Two home runs by New York’s Russell Martin were the biggest of four home runs by New York Saturday afternoon. In eight games this season, the Yankees have now hit a total of 18 home runs. CC Sabathia (0-0, 1.38 ERA) gets the start for the Yankees, while the Red Sox counter with Josh Beckett (0-1, 5.40 ERA).
In the NL East, the Atlanta Braves are home to complete their series with the Philadelphia Phillies at 1:30PM EST in a game that will be televised on TBS. Atlanta is a -115 favorite and the over-under is 7.5. The Milwaukee Brewers are home to face the Chicago Cubs at 2:00PM EST. Milwaukee is a -175 favorite and the over-under is 8.5.
Back in the American League, the Minnesota Twins try to rebound from a loss to the Oakland A’s as the two squads complete their series at 2:00PM EST. Minnesota is a -122 favorite with an over-under of 8.5. The Los Angeles Angels finish their series with the Toronto Blue Jays at 3:30PM EST. Los Angeles is a -172 favorite, while the over-under is set at 8.
