Marlins vs. Reds Wednesday Prediction
The Reds released some frustrations on the Marlins last night, pounding out 14 runs and shutting out Miami to earn their second win of the season. Despite the scoring outburst last night, will Wednesday’s game be relatively low-scoring?

Miami Marlins Fantasy Spin
Brian Anderson went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts Tuesday in Cincinnati, dropping his average to .143. The Marlins managed just four hits as Luis Castillo and the Reds shut them out. Anderson had a fine rookie season for the Marlins but is trying to fight off an early sophomore slump with a .143/.217/.167 batting line and just one extra-base hit (a double).
Cincinnati Reds Fantasy Spin
Scott Schebler reached base four times and hit a solo home run Tuesday against the Marlins. The Reds pounded out 16 hits and 14 runs and Schebler was responsible for three of those base knocks. He hit the final of back-to-back-to-back home runs in the sixth inning, following Matt Kemp and Eugenio Suarez. Schebler has gone deep in back-to-back games.
MLB Betting Trends
Miami
Despite their ugly loss last night, the Marlins are still 5-2 in their last seven games versus the Reds.
Cincinnati
The Reds have dropped all six of Tyler Mahle’s last six starts.
Prediction:
In my prediction for this matchup last night, I wrote that I expected the Reds to exercise some demons last night and that’s exactly what they did. The key last night, however, was that Miami starter Jose Urena has struggled against lefties (not to mention that Luis Castillo was likely to shut down Miami’s weak offense, which he did). Tonight’s starter, Trevor Richards, doesn’t have the same dramatic splits as Urena did, so I’m banking on the Reds’ offense to go back to struggling tonight. With the total sitting at 9 runs, I love the under, which is 4-1 in the last five meetings between these two teams and is 5-2 in the last seven meetings in Cincinnati.
The Pick: Marlins/Reds UNDER 9
