Jonathan Villar went 2-for-4 and scored a run as the Mets fell to the Dodgers on Sunday evening in New York. Villar led off the fourth inning with an infield single, advanced to second on a ground out and to third on a fielder’s choice before eventually scoring on an RBI ground out off the bat of Michael Conforto. With Francisco Lindor and Javier Baez both sidelined, Villar will continue to see everyday at-bats at least for another week and is now slashing .246/.321/.424 with 13 homers, 29 RBI and nine stolen bases on the season.

He knocked a single in the first inning before coming up to bat with the bases loaded in the fifth. La Stella hit a 104.3 mile per hour rocket off of Jon Gray that hit off the right-field wall for a double, missing a grand slam by inches. The 32-year-old infielder is hitting .255/.318/.357 with one home run on the year over just 98 at-bats.
