Seattle Mariners DFS Notes
Jarred Kelenic homered and doubled twice to lead the Mariners to a 7-1 victory over the Royals on Sunday. He’s heating up. It’s just too bad there’s so little baseball left. Kelenic also drew a walk and clearly is beginning to figure things out after a horrific start to his MLB career. He certainly won’t be the first — nor the last — to have had a rough go of it and figure it out, and it’s obvious why he was considered one of the top prospects in baseball coming into the season. It’s the sixth homer of September for Kelenic, and it’s nice to see him ending things on a strong note.
Oakland A’s DFS Notes
Cole Irvin was charged with four runs (one earned) over six innings on Friday in a win over the Angels. Irvin gave up seven hits, including a solo homer to Kurt Suzuki in the fifth inning. He finished with three strikeouts and only issued one walk. The 27-year-old southpaw has delivered a solid 3.95 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 112/35 K/BB ratio across 164 1/3 innings (29 starts) this season. He’s lined up to face the Mariners on Wednesday night in a critical intradivisional showdown.

The Mariners are 7-0 in their last seven games versus the A’s and are 4-0 in their last four games in Oakland. They’re also 5-1 in their last six road games, are 4-1 in their last five games overall and are 6-1 in their last seven road games versus a left-handed starter. On the other side, the A’s are 0-4 in their last four home games, are 2-6 in their last eight home games versus a right-handed starter and are 5-13 in their last 18 games after allowing five runs or more in their previous game.
