Los Angeles Dodgers Fantasy Spin
Joe Kelly took his third blown save and second loss of the year after giving up a run in an inning Monday against the Cardinals. At least he didn’t give up a homer tonight. Kelly’s two losses match his total from last year; he took a total of three losses in 147 appearances for Boston from 2016-18. He’s given up two homers in six innings this year after allowing four in 65 2/3 innings last season and three in 58 innings in 2017.
St. Louis Cardinals Fantasy Spin
Marcell Ozuna hit a two-run homer off Hyun-Jin Ryu in the Cardinals’ 4-3 victory over the Dodgers on Monday. There’s been a lot of concern over whether Ozuna’s power stroke would come around after shoulder surgery, but he’s now homered in two of his last three games. That should quiet the premature calls to bench him in favor of Jose Martinez or Tyler O’Neill.
MLB Betting Trends
Los Angeles
The Dodgers are 1-4 in Ross Stripling’s last five starts but are 38-17 in their last 55 games coming off a loss.
St. Louis
The Cardinals have lost five of their last seven home games dating back to last season.
Prediction:
The Cardinals are off to a somewhat sluggish start to the 2019 season but they could flip the script at any moment. Ozuna has hit two home runs in his last three games and Paul Goldschmidt has only partially showed the St. Louis faithful what he’s capable of. Meanwhile, the Dodgers looked sluggish last night having played the night before in Denver and St. Louis’ bullpen was able to shut-down L.A.’s dynamic offense. I like getting plus odds with the home team tonight.
The Pick: St. Louis Cardinals +110
