Los Angeles Dodgers Fantasy Spin
Justin Turner (ankle, hamstring) is back in the Dodgers’ lineup for Thursday’s series opener against the Brewers. This will be his first start since Monday, though he did appear as a pinch-hitter Wednesday in a win over Cincinnati. Turner will man third base and bat third against Milwaukee hurler Zach Davies. The 34-year-old has hit for a decent average (.297) this year, though only two of his 19 hits have gone for extra bases.
Milwaukee Brewers Fantasy Spin
Mike Moustakas is not in the Brewers’ lineup Thursday against the Dodgers. Moustakas struggles against lefties (2-for-15 this year), so he’ll get the night off with Julio Urias throwing for L.A. Utility man Hernan Perez will step in at second base and bat seventh. Moustakas has been a valuable source of power with six homers in the early going, though his sluggish .231 average leaves much to be desired.
MLB Betting Trends
Los Angeles
The Dodgers are 1-4 in Julio Urias’ last five starts but are 6-2 in his last eight road outings.
Milwaukee
The Brewers are 4-0 in Zach Daveis’ last four starts and are 4-1 in his last five outings at Miller Park.
Prediction:
Urias is a talented pitcher but he’s off to a rough start in 2019. Through three starts, his strikeout rate and walk rates aren’t great and he’s not generating enough groundballs or hard contact. That’s a bad sign tonight, as the Brewers boast one of the most talented offenses in the league, especially at home. Milwaukee knocked Urias around when these two teams met in L.A. last week and I expect the Brew Crew to do the same tonight.
The Pick: Milwaukee Brewers -105
