Public Betting Trends

According to our MLB Public Betting Chart page, 80% of the betting tickets are on the Dodgers to beat the Angels on the moneyline.

Los Angeles Dodgers Fantasy Spin

Chris Taylor went 2-for-4 with a two-run double and a run scored in the Dodgers’ loss to the Angels on Monday. Taylor gave the Dodgers a 2-0 lead with a two-run two-bagger off of Griffin Canning, and he came around to score on an Enrique Hernandez double a batter later. The two-hit day ups his slash to .225/.290/.402 with five homers, 23 RBI and four steals over 63 games. His versatility is nice, but he’s nothing more than a bench spot — if that — in redraft formats.

Los Angeles Angels Fantasy Spin

Kole Calhoun went 2-for-4 with a solo homer on Monday in the Angels’ win over the Dodgers. Calhoun was responsible for the only run scored off of Hyun-Jin Ryu, as he took the southpaw deep for his 14th homer of the season. The 31-year-old has upped his slugging percentage to .496, and he’s getting on at a respectable .332 mark despite his .243 average. Calhoun had a .946 OPS in May after (another) terrible April, and while there will likely be some volatility here — there has been for most of his career — he’s likely to provide enough pop and drive in enough runs to remain relevant in most leagues.

MLB Betting Trends

LA Dodgers

The Dodgers are 7-3 in their last 10 road games and are 37-14 in their last 51 games overall.

LA Angels

The Angels are 21-8 in their last 28 interleague home games and are 5-0 in their last five interleague games versus a right-handed starter.

Prediction:

The Dodgers are just 2-7 in their last nine games versus the Angels in Anaheim and are 1-5 in Kenta Maeda’s last six road starts. Meanwhile, the Angels have won five straight when facing a starter with a WHIP less than 1.15 and are 4-0 in their last four interleague home games versus an opponent with a winning record. I’m going to take a flier on the Halos to go back-to-back against their L.A. rivals.

Tuesday MLB Prediction: Los Angeles Angels +145
