Los Angeles Dodgers DFS SPIN
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Wednesday that it’s “highly unlikely” Max Scherzer will be available out of the bullpen on Thursday night in Game 5 of the NLDS against the Giants. Everything remains on the table for the Dodgers in a winner-take-all elimination contest, but the plan appears to have Scherzer ready to start on Saturday night in Game 1 of the NLCS against the Braves. The 37-year-old workhorse threw a staggering 110 pitches over seven innings on Monday night in the Dodgers’ Game 3 loss to the Giants. The doors seems to have been left ajar, but it seems unlikely Scherzer will make an appearance on Thursday night in Game 5, unless absolutely necessary.
San Francisco Giants DFS Spin
Giants manager Gabe Kepler said Wednesday that Tommy La Stella (Achilles) will be available off the bench for Thursday’s winner-take-all NLDS Game 5 showdown against the Dodgers. La Stella has been dealing with a lingering Achilles issue for the last few weeks, which led to his early exit from Tuesday’s Game 4 loss to the Dodgers. The Giants will roll with their usual righty-heavy lineup against lefty Julio Urías, but the veteran infielder should be available to take a couple at-bats in the later stages of the contest.
Dodgers vs. Giants Betting Prediction
The Dodgers are just 3-8 in their last 11 games versus the Giants and are 1-5 in their last six games when playing the fifth game of a series. The Giants, meanwhile, are 22-5 in their last 27 games following an off day, are 45-18 in their last 63 games overall and have cashed in five of their last seven games as an underdog. They’re also 6-2 in their last eight home games.
