Detroit Tigers Fantasy Spin
Shane Greene earned his 10th save of the season Sunday in the Tigers’ 4-3 defeat of the White Sox. Greene has earned a save in each of the Tigers’ 10 victories this season and he currently leads all MLB relievers in that category. The right-hander retired all three batters he faced on Sunday, two via strikeout. It might be wise to sell high on Greene in fantasy considering the likelihood that he will be traded away from Detroit at some point — probably to a contending team that may already have an established closer.
Boston Red Sox Fantasy Spin
Christian Vazquez delivered a go-ahead RBI sacrifice fly in the 11th inning to propel the Red Sox to 4-3 extra-inning victory on Sunday and complete a three-game sweep of the Rays. Vazquez plated Rafael Devers from third base with a sacrifice fly off Rays’ reliever Jose Alvarado in the top of the 11th inning to give the Red Sox their third consecutive victory. The 28-year-old backstop went 0-for-4 in the extra-inning affair, but came through when it mattered most. He can be safely ignored in all fantasy formats moving forward.
MLB Betting Trends
Detroit
The Tigers are 6-17 in Matt Boyd’s last 23 road starts.
Boston
The Red Sox are 0-4 in Chris Sale’s last four starts but are 7-3 in his last 10 outings at Fenway Park.
Prediction:
The under is 11-4-1 in the last 16 meetings between these two teams at Fenway Park and is 5-1 in the last six meetings between these two teams overall. The under is also 8-1 in the Tigers’ last nine road games and is 19-7 in their last 26 games against American League East foes. Finally, the under is 5-2 in the Red Sox’ last seven games overall. At some point, Sale will look like Sale again and it might be tonight against the light-hitting Tigers.
The Pick: Tigers/Red Sox UNDER 8
