Rockies vs. Nationals Monday Prediction
The Nationals missed an opportunity to shrink their deficit in the NL East with a loss last night in Atlanta but look to rebound Monday night when they return home to open a new series with the Rockies. Is there value in the under tonight?

Colorado Rockies Fantasy Spin
Charlie Blackmon went 4-for-5 with a solo home run, a double and three runs scored in Sunday’s 8-4 win over the Yankees. Blackmon had largely been struggling since the All-Star Game, but broke out in a huge way in Sunday’s series finale against the Yankees. He opened the game in loud style, swatting a solo home run off James Paxton in the first inning, then went about giving his average a nice shot in the arm with three additional hits before the end of the contest. For the campaign, Blackmon is slashing .319/.365/.602 with 21 home runs and 60 RBI across 82 games played. The outfielder has hit at least 20 home runs in each of the last four seasons. He is trying for his second-ever 30 homer campaign.
Washington Nationals Fantasy Spin
Kurt Suzuki went 2-for-3 with a pair of singles as the Nationals fell to the Braves on Sunday night in Atlanta. As a team, the Nationals tallied just six hits against Kevin Gausman and company in this one, with Suzuki the only player to have a multi-hit game. With the two-hit night, the veteran backstop is now slashing .263/.315/.486 with 11 homers and 39 RBI.
MLB Betting Trends
Colorado
The Rockies have dropped 13 of 16 overall and five of their last six games on the road.
Washington
The Nationals are a perfect 6-0 in their last six games following a loss and are 5-1 in their last six home games.
Prediction:
The Rockies don’t win when Peter Lamert pitches and the Nationals haven’t been profitable when Erick Fedde starts. Thus, I don’t want to touch the moneylines for either teams. While Lambert has had a rough go of things in his rookie campaign, he did hold the Giants to only two runs on six hits over six innings in his last home start. Tonight he’ll be making his third start on the road, where he is 1-0 with a 3.00 ERA. Meanwhile, Fedde doesn’t often pitch deep into games but he has six starts this season in which he’s allowed three runs or fewer. With Colorado’s offense much weaker away from Coors Field, I like the under tonight.
The Pick: Rockies/Nationals UNDER 10.5
