Cincinnati Reds Fantasy Spin
Yasiel Puig belted a solo home run as the Reds took down the Cardinals on Tuesday. Genesis Cabrera left a fastball up and over the plate to Puig in the fifth inning and the outfielder launched a no-doubter over the center field wall for his lone hit on the night. Worth noting is that Puig was shaken up when he ran hard into the outfield side wall on an attempted catch late in the game. It was a play similar to the one he injured his shoulder on last month. He stayed in the game this time, though, and took another at-bat, so hopefully he’s fine.
St. Louis Cardinals Fantasy Spin
Matt Carpenter cranked a solo home run for the Cardinals’ lone run in Tuesday’s loss to the Reds. Carpenter led off the bottom of the first inning with a blast over the center field wall off of Luis Castillo, but that wound up being the Cards’ only tally on the night. We’ve seen encouraging signs lately that Carpenter might be coming out of his slump, as he’s batting .302 with five long balls and 11 RBI over his last 16 contests.
MLB Betting Trends

The over is 7-3-1 in the last 11 meetings between these National League Central rivals when the game is played in ST. Louis. The over is also 4-0 in DeSclafani’s last four starts versus the Cardinals and is 4-1 in his last five outings against the rest of the National League Central. On the other side, the over is 3-1-1 in Hudson’s last five home starts and is 6-2-1 in the Cardinals’ last nine home games versus an opponent with a losing record.
