Cincinnati Reds Fantasy Spin
Eugenio Suarez went 3-for-4 with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored in Tuesday’s win over the Brewers. Brewers starter Zach Davies didn’t make an awful pitch to Suarez in the first inning but the third baseman still found the seats in right field, swatting a two-run shot over the boards. He later drove in a run with a single and scored a run in the Reds’ five-run fifth inning. Suarez is having a strong month of July after a fairly pedestrian first half, batting .303 with 10 homers, 19 RBI and 16 runs scored this month. With the outstanding few weeks Suarez has his season line up to .258/.338/.533 with 27 homers, 67 RBI and 54 runs scored.
Milwaukee Brewers Fantasy Spin
Manny Pina went 2-for-2 with a home run and four RBI in Tuesday’s loss to the Reds. Pina entered as a defensive replacement after the game got away from the Brewers, but he did his best to get them back in the contest with his bat. The backstop hit a three-run homer in the sixth inning and added an RBI single in the ninth. It wasn’t enough, but the 32-year-old can at least feel good about his contributions. Pina has six homers in 47 games overall, batting .196/.288/.424 on the season while backing up Yasmani Grandal.
MLB Betting Trends
Cincinnati
The Reds are 1-4 in their last five games following a win.
Milwaukee
The Brewers are 3-13 in Jhoulys Chacin’s last 16 starts and are 0-4 in their last four games versus divisional foes.
Prediction:
The Brewers are struggling right now but they’re also 20-8 in their last 28 games after losing the first two games of a series and have won 12 of their last 16 contests when playing the third game of a series. The Reds, meanwhile, have dropped nine of their last 13 games against a right-handed starter and are 3-7 in their last 10 road games versus a righty. I like the Brewers to salvage one game in this series.
The Pick: Milwaukee Brewers -155
