Boston Red Sox Fantasy Spin
Rafael Devers finished 3-for-5 with a homer, three RBI, a stolen base, and two runs scored in Boston’s win over the Blue Jays on Monday. Devers opened the game’s scoring with an RBI single in the top of the first inning, then added another RBI single in the top of the seventh before going deep in back-to-back fashion with teammate Xander Bogaerts in the top of the ninth. The 22-year-old third baseman owns a strong .314/.383/.451 batting line with 25 RBI, six stolen bases, and 31 runs scored in 47 games this season. He’s slugged just four home runs, but there should be many more of those coming.
Toronto Blue Jays Fantasy Spin
Luke Maile hit a two-run homer in the Blue Jays’ loss to the Red Sox on Monday. Maile’s drive to left-center off David Price in the bottom of the second inning was the only real highlight for the Jays in their 12-2 blowout defeat on Victoria Day in Toronto. Maile is still batting just .148/.193/.278 for the season and holds no fantasy relevance.
MLB Betting Trends
Boston
The Red Sox are 48-18 in their last 66 games versus a team with a losing record.
Toronto
The Blue Jays are just 3-10 in their last 13 home games when facing a left-handed starter.
Prediction:
The Red Sox covered the over by themselves yesterday, but the Blue Jays only scored two runs and have one of the more inconsistent offenses in baseball. The under is 10-3 in Marcus Stroman’s last 13 home starts, is 8-3 in his last 11 outings overall and is 20-7 in the Blue Jays’ last 27 home games. On the other side, the under is 9-4 in Eduardo Rodriguez’s last 13 starts coming off five days of rest and is 36-11-1 in his last 38 outings against the rest of the American League East.
The Pick: Red Sox/Blue Jays UNDER 9
