Blue Jays manager John Schneider told reporters after Saturday’s game that Santiago Espinal (wrist) was sent for additional imaging and the team would know more on his status on Sunday. Espinal was pulled from Saturday’s contest after he was drilled in the right wrist by a Gerrit Cole fastball. As of now, he has been diagnosed with a right wrist contusion, but the club wants to get additional imaging done to be sure that there aren’t any fractures. Anthony Volpe walloped a go-ahead two-run homer on Saturday in the Yankees’ win over the Blue Jays. Volpe broke up a scoreless stalemate with an eighth-inning blast to right-center field off righty reliever Yimi García. It was his second round-tripper of the season and lone hit in four at-bats. Unfortunately, the Yankees’ bullpen was unable to hang onto the lead, but DJ LeMahieu came through with a walk-off hit in the ensuing frame.
