Baltimore Orioles Fantasy Spin
Trey Mancini is considered day-to-day after X-rays came back negative on his right index finger on Saturday. Mancini was removed from Saturday’s game after suffering a contusion to his finger, but fortunately there was no structural damage. He’s expected to sit out on Sunday as a precautionary measure, but won’t require a trip to the injured list. Mancini is off to a terrific start, slashing .355/.405/.618 with six long balls and 14 RBI.
Minnesota Twins Fantasy Spin
Max Kepler went 2-for-4 with a pair of homers and four RBI on Saturday in the Twins’ 9-2 win over the Orioles on Saturday. Kepler hit a two-run homer and a solo shot, and he also drove in a run with a sacrifice fly. Kepler has now gone deep three times in the last two games, and he’s up to six on the year. His OPS has also gone up to .858, and he’s driven in 15 runs on the season. Kepler has always had tremendous talent, and it’s possible — even if it is early to say so — that he’s put enough together to be a viable fantasy option in 2019.
MLB Betting Trends
Baltimore
The Orioles are just 1-8 in Bundy’s last nine road starts.
Minnesota
The Twins are 6-1 in Kyle Gibson’s last seven starts.
Prediction:
The over is 5-2 in the last seven meetings between these two teams and while I am somewhat concerned that we won’t get enough run production out of the Orioles’ lineup, the Twins should more than make up for what Baltimore lacks. Bundy is home run prone and he’s facing a Minnesota lineup that ranks fourth in the majors in home runs. The Twins just hit five home runs yesterday, in fact.
The Pick: Orioles/Twins OVER 9
