Atlanta Braves Fantasy Spin
Austin Riley continued his hot hitting in Saturday’s loss to the Cardinals, going 1-for-4 with an RBI double. Riley opened the scoring in the ballgame with his run-scoring double in the second inning to plate Josh Donaldson. He has been on a tear through his first 11 games at the big league level, slashing .341/.370/.727 with five homers and 13 RBI.
St. Louis Cardinals Fantasy Spin
Paul Goldschmidt went 3-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored as the Cardinals rallied to defeat the Braves on Saturday night in St. Louis. Goldschmidt reached on catcher’s indifference in the fourth inning and came around to score the Cardinals’ first run of the game. He then chipped in an RBI single in the fifth. Goldschmidt hasn’t lived up to his lofty standards this season, slashing .269/.360/.442 with 10 homers and 24 RBI. He has also yet to steal a base as a Cardinal.
MLB Betting Trends
Atlanta
The Braves are 11-4 in their last 15 games overall and 7-2 in their last nine road contests despite losing last night in St. Louis.
St. Louis
The Cardinals have lost 11 of Flaherty’s last 16 starts and are 6-15 in their last 21 games overall.
Prediction:
While the Cardinals haven’t been profitable when Flaherty pitches, he is the starter in their rotation with the most upside. He has big-time strikeout potential and if he keeps the ball in the yard, he can pitch deep into this game. I don’t trust Atlanta’s bullpen, which is struggling right now. The Braves’ pen blew a one-run lead late last night and if the game is close late again tonight, I don’t trust that Atlanta’s relievers will preserve the lead.
The Pick: St. Louis Cardinals -151
