Atlanta Braves Fantasy Spin
Ronald Acuna Jr. turned in a monster night on Friday against the Marlins, going 3-for-4 with two homers and four RBI. Acuna connected for a two-run shot against Caleb Smith in a five-run fifth inning for the Braves before adding some valuable insurance with another two-run shot in the ninth. He has seven homers in his last eight games. This gives him 32 homers for the year, with a real shot to reach the 40-homer mark. If that wasn’t enough, he also leads the NL with 26 steals to go along with an impressive .298/.377/.535 batting line. He’s a stud.
Miami Marlins Fantasy Spin
Starlin Castro went 4-for-4 with a homer and two RBI in Friday’s loss to the Braves. Castro slugged a solo homer off Julio Teheran in the seventh inning and chipped in with an RBI single in the next inning. The 29-year-old has now homered in back-to-back games while delivering multi-hit games in three straight. Still, he owns a disappointing .257/.283/.378 batting line with 11 homers on the year. The Marlins recently moved him to third base with the arrival of Isan Diaz and with a trade no longer possible, it’s worth wondering whether they eventually pull the plug altogether.
