Framber Valdez will start for the Astros in Game 5 of the ALCS on Wednesday versus the Red Sox. Valdez was said to be available in relief in Game 4 on Tuesday, but the Astros were able to steer away from him as they earned a 9-2 victory in Boston to knot the best-of-seven American League Championship Series at two games apiece. The 27-year-old left-hander lasted just 2 2/3 innings in his ALCS Game 1 start last Friday in Houston. He’ll be matched up against Chris Sale in Game 5 at Fenway Park.
Boston Red Sox DFS Notes
Chris Sale will get the start for the Red Sox in Game 5 of the ALCS on Wednesday against the Astros. Sale hasn’t made it very deep into his two postseason starts thus far, but he’s probably the best option for manager Alex Cora as the Red Sox look to jump back ahead in the best-of-seven series, which is currently tied 2-2 after Houston’s come-from-behind win in Game 4 on Tuesday night at Fenway Park. Framber Valdez will be on the bump first Wednesday for the visiting ‘Stros.
