Arizona Diamondbacks Fantasy Spin
Ketel Marte went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Sunday’s win over the Padres. Marte got the D’backs on the board with the two-run blast, his fourth of the year, in the third inning against Padres starter Eric Lauer. Three of his four homers have now come as a right-handed batter, as he’s always been a stronger hitter from the right side. The 25-year-old is now hitting .254/.250/.508 with those four homers, 13 RBI, eight runs scored and two steals while manning second base, center field and shortstop for the Arizona club.
Atlanta Braves Fantasy Spin
Josh Donaldson homered for the second consecutive game, helping to power the Braves to a 7-3 victory over the Mets on Sunday night in Atlanta. After failing to homer in each of his first 13 contests with the Braves, Donaldson has now found the seats in each of his last two ballgames. This one came off of Mets’ ace Jacob deGrom to increase the Braves’ lead to 3-1 in the fifth inning. He also capped off the scoring with an RBI single in the eighth, drew a pair of walks and struck out in this one, finishing the night 2-for-3. His bat is starting to show signs of life after a slow start, as he’s now slashing .264/.400/.472 with two long balls and three RBI on the season.
MLB Betting Trends
Arizona
The Diamondbacks are just 1-4 in their last five games versus the Braves.
Atlanta
The Braves have beaten the Diamondbacks 17 times in the last 18 meetings in Atlanta.
Prediction:
Robbie Ray will generate plenty of strikeouts but he also gives up a lot of hard contact. He also struggles keeping the ball in the yard when facing right-handed hitters, so look for Donaldson, Ozzie Albies and Ronald Acuna to have big nights. Meanwhile, Max Fried has pitched well over a small sample and benefits from pitching at home tonight, where SunTrust Park favors pitchers.
The Pick: Atlanta Braves -135
