Angels’ 2015 MLB Season Odds
LOS ANGELES, CA (The Spread) – After winning 98 games a year ago, the Angels’ win total for 2015 might surprise some bettors.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the over/under for number of wins that the Angels will earn in 2015 has been set at 88.5. The Halos are also 14/1 to win the World Series, 6/1 to win the AL pennant and 8/5 to win the AL West Division.
The Angels head into 2015 with some question marks in their starting rotation. Jered Weaver and CJ Wilson return to the top of the rotation but appear to be regressing, while ace Garrett Richards will likely miss the first month of the season as he finishes rehab following a torn patella tendon in his knee suffered last August. With Tyler Skaggs out for the year following Tommy John Surgery, Matt Shoemaker will step into the rotation full-time and Hector Santiago will have a spot in the rotation to start the year as well.
Offensively, Josh Hamilton faces a suspension after reportedly suffering a drug-related relapse, although the acquisition of Matt Joyce should soften the blow of losing Hamilton. Replacing Howie Kendrick (traded) could prove to be a challenge but Mike Trout and Albert Pujols should provide enough offense for the Angels to once again challenge for a division crown.
Despite a natural regression of some of their veterans, the Halos still have enough talent to win close to 90 games this season.
