A’s vs. Royals MLB Prediction
The A’s and Royals will wrap up their series at 2:10 p.m. ET on Thursday afternoon when Paul Blackburn opposes Carlos Hernandez in the pitching matchup. Will the over cash like it did in the first two meetings between these two teams?
Game Snapshot
909 Oakland A’s (-119) at 910 Kansas City Royals (+110); o/u 9.5
2:10 p.m. ET, Thursday, September 16, 2021
Kauffman Stadium, Kansas City, MO
Oakland A’s DFS Notes
Paul Blackburn allowed four runs on six hits and one walk with three strikeouts over 2 2/3 innings in a no-decision against the Rangers on Friday. Blackburn allowed a run to score on a pair of base hits in the first inning. After Oakland took a five-run lead in the second, Blackburn surrendered a two-run double to Nathaniel Lowe in the third inning. Nick Solak followed with a base hit to drive in the fourth run for Texas. That would be it for Blackburn as he was pulled before completing the frame. The 27-year-old right-hander will take a 5.24 ERA, 1.57 WHIP, and 15 strikeouts over 22 1/3 innings into his next start against the Royals in Kansas City next week.
Kansas City Royals DFS Notes
Royals placed LHP Mike Minor on the 10-day injured list with a left shoulder impingement. That explains why he was scratched from his scheduled start Wednesday night against the Athletics. Carlos Hernandez will fill in. Minor, 33, leaves behind a 5.05 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, and 149/41 K/BB ratio through 158 2/3 innings (28 starts) for Kansas City. He could struggle to make it back before the end of the season.
A’s vs. Royals MLB Betting Prediction
The over is 5-1 in the last six meetings between these two teams at Kauffman Stadium, is 7-1-1 in the A’s last nine road games and is 11-1 in their last 12 games versus an opponent with a losing record. On the other side, the over is 5-1 in the Royals’ last six games versus a right-handed starter.
MLB BETTING PREDICTION: A’S/ROYALS OVER 9.5
