View Updated 2015 World Series Odds
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Los Angeles Dodgers have opened as the favorites to win next year’s World Series at 15/2. The Nationals have the next best odds at 8/1, while the Tigers, Angels, Giants and Cardinals are all 12/1, respectively. San Francisco, of course, is coming off of its third title in the past five seasons.
The Cubs, meanwhile, are a shocking 18/1 to win the 2015 World Series after it was announced that Joe Maddon would be taking over as their next manager. Chicago is also expected to make a run at some of the big money starting pitchers like Jon Lester and/or Max Scherzer, who will be free agents this winter. The defending AL pennant winners the Royals, as well as the Seattle Mariners, are also 18/1 to win the Fall Classic next year.
The Orioles, A’s and Pirates are all 20/1, respectively, to win the 2015 World Series. All three teams made the playoffs last year as the Pirates and A’s lost in the Wild Card round while the Orioles went to the ALCS but were swept by the Royals.
The Braves start the run of non-playoff teams from a year ago, as they’re 22/1 to win the World Series. The Red Sox and Yankees both have those same 22/1 odds, respectively, while the Indians are 25/1 and the Reds, Rays, Rangers and Blue Jays are all 33/1, respectively.
