Oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com have made the A’s over/under win total for 2011 83.5. They’re +220 on the money line to win the AL West Division and +3000 to win the 2011 World Series.

Offseason Additions: The A’s made a ton of moves this offseason, most notably signing relievers Brian Fuentes and Grant Balfour, exercising club options for Mark Ellis and Coco Crisp, and signing free agent Hideki Matsui to a one-year deal. They also acquired David DeJesus (Royals), Danny Farquhar and Trystan Magnuson (Blue Jays), Jose Rivero (Diamondbacks), Josh Willingham (Nationals), Ryan Kelly (Priates), Guillermo Moscoso (Rangers) and Ethan Hollingsworth (Rockies) via trades.

Offseason Losses: The team parted ways with Raiaji Davis, Jack Cust, Gabe Gross, Eric Chavez, Jeff Larish, Vin Mazzaro, Ben Sheets, Justin Duchscherer, Henry Rodriguez, Boof Bonser, Ross Wolf, Justin Marks, Corey Brown, Corey Wimberly, Ryan Kelly and Clayton Mortensen over the winter.

Season Outlook: There’s plenty to like about the A’s this season. They have four quality young starters in Trevor Cahill, Brett Anderson, Gio Gonzalez and Dallas Braden entering the prime of their career and have upgraded their bullpen with the acquisitions of Fuentes and Balfour. Their offense is still a concern, but the additions of DeJesus, Matsui and Josh Willingham should be enough to allow them to make a run in the AL West. Do they have enough to win a World Series? Nobody thought the Giants did and they won in 2010, so you never know. Maybe its San Fran’s biggest interleague rivals’ turn to surprise.
