2011 NL West Division Odds
(The Spread) – The San Francisco Giants are favored to repeat as NL West Division champs again in 2011, although they have some company according to oddsmakers.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com, the Giants are +160 on the money line to win the NL West in 2011. But as far as the division odds go, the Colorado Rockies (+200) and Los Angeles Dodgers (+225) are listed right behind them.
The Giants of course won the 2010 World Series thanks in large part to their pitching staff. Tim Lincecum, Matt Cain, Jonathan Sanchez, Madison Bumgarner and eccentric closer Brian Wilson all return, while the club also re-signed Aubrey Huff and Pat Burell in the offseason.
Someone who won’t make his way back to San Francisco is 2010 World Series MVP Edgar Renteria, who signed with the Reds this offseason. Also gone is Juan Uribe, who signed with the hated Dodgers. The Giants did sign shortstop Miguel Tejada to off-set the loss of Uribe and Renteria, and brought back Mike Fontenot by avoiding arbitration.
The Rockies will definitely push the Giants in this season. They hardly made any offseason moves outside of re-signing their own players, but with guys like Ubaldo Jimenez, Troy Tulowitzki and Carlos Gonzalez leading the way, Colorado didn’t need to ad much. They just need to execute and they could find themselves in the postseason hunt at the end of the year.
The Dodgers have a slightly above average team across the board and if everything falls right, they could challenge for a playoff spot. But for that to happen, Matt Kemp needs to bounce back after he had a down year and the rotation has to stay healthy. Adding Jon Garland in the offseason was a nice pickup.
After leading the division race for most of last year, San Diego fans might be high on the Padres again this year but they’ll obviously struggle without slugger Adrian Gonzalez (traded to Boston in the offseason). Both San Diego (+1200) and Arizona (+1300) are the long shots in the West, but anything could happen. (Hey, the Giants did win the World Series last year, right?)
