2011 AL Central Division Odds
(The Spread) – Oddsmakers envision the AL Central playing out the same this year as it did last year: with the Minnesota Twins taking home the division crown.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com, the Minnesota Twins are +150 on the money line to win the AL Central, which makes them slight favorites.
The Chicago White Sox are +160 to win the division this year, while the Detroit Tigers are +175. To no one’s surprise, the two long shots remain the Kansas City Royals at +8000 and the Cleveland Indians at +2500.
If the Twins are to repeat as division champs, then Justin Morneau must stay healthy. He says he’ll be ready for the season opener, but his health remains a huge issue.
If Gordon Beckham can carry over his excellent second half into this season, the Sox will be dangerous. They added Adam Dunn in the offseason, a player who has averaged 40 home run, 101 RBI and 107 walks over the last seven seasons and who could give Chicago a huge lift.
The Tigers are certainly a team to keep an eye on assuming Miguel Cabrera’s off-field drinking problem doesn’t become a habit. They added veteran catcher Victor Martinez to help take some of the load off Cabrera and give the club’s lineup more pop. Detroit also added Joaquin Benoit, who was the best setup man in the major last season.
The young Indians and Royals will have a hard time competing in what should be a wide-open race. Cleveland added Austin Kearns but needs more out of Grady Sizemore and youngster Matt LaPorta if they’re going to surprise this season, while KC’s biggest offseason addition was Jeff Francoeur. Meh.
