With the 2010 Major League Baseball season halfway done, the updated odds are out for which team will win the American League Pennant.

Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com have made the Yankees 1/1 favorites to win the ALCS. Other short odds to win are
Texas (7/2),

Tampa (4/1), and the Chicago White Sox (5/1).

The Yankees have won 40 pennants, including 2009. At the break the Yankees are 56-32, which is the best record in baseball. The Yankees lead the Rays by two games in the AL East at this point and have a 28-13 home record and a 28-19 road record.

Texas has never won the World Series nor appeared in one in franchise history. The Rangers have been somewhat of a surprise this year, as they are 50-38 at the break and have a 4.5-game lead in the AL West. A 31-19 record at home is among the best in the majors but a 19-19 road record is a concern. The recent addition of Cliff Lee to the pitching staff has increased the Rangers odds to win the ALCS as its pitching staff may be able to contend with opponents like the Yankees.

Tampa has never won the World Series, but has one AL Pennant to its credit, which came in 2008.  The Rays are 54-34 on the season and are in the lead in the wild card standings by three games over

Boston.

The Chicago White Sox have won seven AL Pennants in franchise history, with the last coming in 2005. The White Sox currently hold the lead in the AL Central with a half-game lead over

Detroit. The White Sox are 49-38 on the year and 27-19 at home. The White Sox did recently lose Jake Peavy for the season due to a torn muscle.
