Kemp sparks LA win
The only hit for Kemp in Saturday night’s victory by the Dodgers over the D-backs in four at-bats was a 3-run homer in the bottom of the eighth inning that sent the hosts to a 3-2 win. Justin Turner finished 2-for-3 with a double, a walk and a run. Kenta Maeda earned the win in relief as he threw a perfect inning with two strikeouts. Kenley Jansen recorded his 34th save as he allowed one hit and struck out one in an inning of work.
Escobar, Walker homer
Eduardo Escobar finished 1-for-4 with a solo home run in yesterday’s loss at Los Angeles. Christian Walker added a pinch-hit homer for the other run. Archie Bradley suffered the loss in relief as he gave up three earned runs on two hits with one strikeout and one walk in one-third of an inning.
Clay Buchholz (7-2, 2.07 ERA) will start today for Arizona, while the Dodgers will go with Walker Buehler (6-4, 3.02).
MLB Betting Trends
Arizona
The under is 8-0 in the last eight Diamondbacks games overall. The under is 5-2-1 in the last eight meetings.
Los Angeles
The Dodgers are 7-1 in their last eight games overall. The under is 9-3-1 in the last 13 LA home games.
Prediction:
Buchholz has been very sharp this season since joining the Arizona rotation, while Buehler has proven he belongs at this level. Runs have been hard to come by this series and I expect today to be no difference. It’s September now and with these two teams in the thick of the NL West race, every pitch counts. Go with the under today.
