Orioles’ Cashner puts together quality start vs. Yankees
Andrew Cashner logged a quality start in Friday’s loss to the Yankees, allowing three runs on nine hits over his six innings of work. The right-hander struck out four and only issued one walk in the contest. The Yankees scratched out single runs against him in the third, fifth and sixth innings, but never were able to put a substantial rally together. He’ll look to further improve upon his disappointing 5.02 ERA and 1.67 WHIP when he takes on the Blue Jays in Toronto on Thursday.
Blue Jays’ Happ allows four runs in five innings in last start
J.A. Happ surrendered four runs in five innings and was lucky to escape with a no-decision against the Tigers on Saturday. He gave up a solo home run to the first batter he faced in the ballgame — Jeimer Candelario. He allowed just five total hits but four of them went for extra bases. He did manage to strike out eight batters to generate some fantasy value. His record holds at 7-3 with a 4.08 ERA and 1.13 WHIP in 12 starts. He has 87 strikeouts and 20 walks in 70 2/3 innings.

Toronto
The Blue Jays are 1-4 in Happ’s last five starts versus the Orioles.
Prediction:
After taking the under in last night’s game, I had to sweat out a win after the Blue Jays rallied to tie the game 4-4 in the bottom of the ninth. As I mentioned in my write up for yesterday’s game, with both teams struggling and this being a divisional matchup, I don’t trust either side. That said, I believe the run production in the later innings last night was a prelude to what will go down tonight. Both teams can swing the sticks and the Blue Jays have a great matchup versus Cashner.
The Pick: Orioles/Blue Jays over 9
