Texas Rangers Fantasy Spin
Ronald Guzman went 1-for-3 with a homer on Monday in the Rangers’ loss to the Mariners. Guzman took Tommy Milone deep to pull the Rangers within a run at 2-1 in the fifth, and it’s the fifth time he’s gone deep for Texas in 26 games and 78 at-bats. He’s still hitting an ugly .205 with a .279 on-base percentage, but the sample size is still relatively small. That being said, there are too many quality options at first base to consider Guzman anything more than an AL-only option right now, and even in that format the value is suspect.
Seattle Mariners Fantasy Spin
Daniel Vogelbach went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in the Mariners’ victory over the Rangers on Monday. Vogelbach absolutely crushed a Jose Leclerc offering into the third deck of T-Mobile Park; an area that only the strongest hitters can reach in Seattle. Vogelbach certainly qualifies as one of those hitters, and he now has 15 homers and 32 RBI. The average is ‘only’ .253, but the on-base percentage (.389) and power (.610 slugging percentage) certainly have helped fantasy owners.
MLB Betting Trends
Texas
The Rangers are 15-38 in their last 53 road games.
Seattle
The Mariners are 1-5 in their last six games following a win.
Prediction:
The Rangers are still 5-1 in their last six games versus the Mariners despite losing last night and have won five straight when their opponent scores five runs or more in their previous game. The Mariners, meanwhile, are still just 6-21 in their last 27 games and 6-13 in their last 19 home games. They’re also 1-7 in their last eight games when playing the second game of a series.
The Pick: Texas Rangers +130
