Rangers squander lead in ninth

Texas scored twice in the top of the ninth inning Saturday night at Los Angeles to take a 2-1 lead, but proceeded to give up two in the bottom half to fall 3-2. Elvis Andrus helped pace the Rangers offensively as he went 2-for-3 with a walk. Ronald Guzman finished 1-for-4 with a double, a run and an RBI. Rougned Odor was 1-for-1 with a pinch-hit RBI single. Shawn Kelley took the loss in relief as he surrendered two earned runs on three hits with no strikeouts or walks over two-thirds of an inning. Calhoun, Walsh lift Angels to win

Los Angeles scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning Saturday night to post a 3-2 home victory over Texas. A pinch-hit RBI single by Jared Walsh in the bottom of the ninth won it for the Angels after they had earlier tied it. Kole Calhoun paced the LA offense as he finished 3-for-3 with a home run, a double, a walk, two runs and two RBIs. Luis Rengifo was 2-for-4 with a run scored. David Fletcher ended the contest 1-for-3 with a double and a walk. Hansel Robles picked up the win after blowing the save as he allowed two earned runs on two hits with no strikeouts and one walk over 1 1/3 innings. Andrew Heaney will make his first start of the season today for Los Angeles.

MLB Betting Trends

Texas

The Rangers are 15-36 in their last 51 road games. Texas is 5-1 in its last six Sunday games.

Los Angeles

The Angels are 7-2 in the last nine home starts by Heaney. Los Angeles is 7-2 in its last nine home games versus Texas.

Prediction:

The Angels are pretty big favorites here despite Heaney not having any MLB starts yet this season, but with Texas struggling against lefties much of the season it makes sense. Los Angeles might have an extra spark today after ending its losing streak and the best player in baseball, Mike Trout, is also due for a big game. Going with the favored hosts on getaway day.
