Boston lost by a count of 4-3 for a second day in a row Saturday night at Houston to drop to 27-25 overall and 14-15 on the road. The Red Sox scored twce in the ninth inning to tie it up before giving up the game-winning in the bottom half of the frame. Matt Barnes suffered the loss in relief as he allowed one earned run on two hits with two walks without recording an out. An RBI single by shortstop Carlos Correa sent host Houston to a 4-3 victory Saturday night over Boston. Correa finished the game 3-for-4 with a walk, a run and an RBI. Yuli Gurriel was 2-for-4 with a run plus an RBI. Aledmys Diaz ended the contest 2-for-5 with two doubles and two runs scored. MLB Betting Trends

The Red Sox are 7-1 in the last eight Rodriguez Sunday starts. Boston is 28-10 in its last 38 Sunday games.

The Astros are 2-5 in their last seven home games versus the Red Sox. Houston is 41-17 in the last 58 Verlander starts.

I don't make it a quest to bet against Verlander and I'm not going to here. The Astros hit lefties well even without George Springer in the lineup and Rodriguez hasn't been in good form lately. Considering he probably won't get much run support, I don't trust that lack of room for error. Look for Houston to establish an early lead and ride Verlander the rest of the way.
