Dodgers bounce back

Los Angeles bounced back from an 8-1 loss at Tampa on Wednesday by picking up a 10-2 win at Pittsburgh last night. The Dodgers are 33-18 on the season, 14-12 on the road and 26-23 with the over. The Dodgers have Hyun-Jin Ryu getting the start tonight. He is 6-1 on the year with a 1.52 ERA.

The Dodgers jumped on Pittsburgh right away, scoring five runs in the first inning. Cody Bellinger continued his great season by blasting his 18th home run of the year and driving in two runs, giving him 46 RBI for the season. David Freese also homered and drove in four runs for the Dodgers on Friday. With all the run support, Walker Buehler got his fifth win of the year. He pitched six innings and allowed one run on five hits with six strikeouts.

Pirates drop another

Pittsburgh has lost three of its last four at home following the lopsided loss on Friday night to the Dodgers. Pittsburgh is now 25-23 on the season, 10-12 at home and 27-21 with the over. Joe Musgrove will be the starting pitcher for Pittsburgh tonight. He is 3-4 on the season with a 3.67 ERA.

Michael Feliz took the loss on Friday, giving up five runs while recording just one out. It is his first loss of the season. Three different Pittsburgh pitchers gave up multiple runs. Adam Frazier had two hits and drove in a run for the Pirates while Elias Diaz drove in the other run.

MLB Betting Trends

Los Angeles

The Dodgers are 7-1 in their last eight against NL Central opponents and 9-2 in Ryu’s last 11 Saturday starts.

Pittsburgh

The Pirates are just 1-4 in their last five home games and 5-14 in their last 19 against NL West opponents.

Prediction:

Ryu has been arguably the top pitcher in the league. He hasn’t allowed more than two runs in any of his nine starts and he hasn’t given up a run in his last three starts, a total of 24 innings. He also has just four walks with 59 strikeouts. Musgrove already has a loss against the Dodgers and he has allowed at least three runs in five of his last six appearances. Ryu is just too strong on the mound and the Pirates have been too inconsistent with their hitting to think they will win tonight.

MLB Prediction: Los Angeles Dodgers -185
