Rafael Devers went 2-for-5 with a double, two runs and two RBIs. Ryan Weber picked up the win as he gave up one earned run on three hits with four strikeouts and no walks over six innings. Astros shut out at home
Houston struggled Thursday night at home against the White Sox in a 4-0 loss, its second defeat in a row to complete the series. The Astros are now 33-18 overall and 18-6 at home. Michael Brantley paced the Astros offensively as he finished 2-for-4. Josh Reddick went 1-for-3 plus a walk. Max Stassi ended the contest 1-for-2. Corbin Martin suffered the loss as he surrendered four runs (three earned) on six hits with three strikeouts and one walk over 3 1/3 innings. MLB Betting Trends
The Red Sox are 5-1 in their last six road games. Boston is 7-3 in the last 10 Sale starts on the road.
The Astros are 2-5 in the last seven meetings. Houston is 0-5 in the last five home meetings versus the Red Sox.
While the Astros are expected to be without George Springer again today, they also are hopeful for the return of second baseball Jose Altuve from the Injured List. Sale makes life tough on opposing batters, but he also gives up home runs and Houston can hit plenty of them. Miley is capable of frustrating opposing hitters into soft contact and it's hard to not like Houston as home underdogs in this spot.
